Leadership Team
Steve HandmakerCo-Owner / Managing PartnerSteve Handmaker began his career in wireless in 1996 when an opportunity to perform site acquisition for Sprint PCS became available in Connecticut. Shortly after successfully securing dozens of ground leases, opportunities expanded to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and throughout Virginia where Mr. Handmaker traveled extensively to perform multiple real estate duties in a continued effort to drive Sprint’s phase 1 build-out. After a couple of years of working in the NE, Mr. Handmaker returned to his native Atlanta to run the same site acquisition firm where he expanded its operations to include staffing wireless professionals throughout the US. As time passed, so did the wireless industry as carriers began to hire turf vendors which more or less limited the opportunities of individual staffing firms as well as site acquisition firms. Realizing this industry change, Mr. Handmaker decided to focus his time and efforts by creating a wireless construction company that built over 900 tower sites throughout the Midwest, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, & Western regions of the US over a 7 year time frame. In 2008, Mr. Handmaker partnered with childhood friend and wireless professional Keith Peck to form Prime Tower Development (PTD) which focused solely on building, owning, & operating wireless infrastructure. PTD prides itself on being able to find solutions for carriers on tower sites where other companies have failed and are able to deliver suitable sites in a much quicker time frame. PTD has various towers throughout the SE & Mid-Atlantic region with tenants such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, as well as many municipal E-911 equipment and also First Net. Mr. Handmaker currently resides in Alpharetta, Ga with his wife & 2 children and is an avid golfer. |
Keith PeckCo-Owner / Managing PartnerAs a native of Atlanta, Georgia and a graduate of the University of Georgia, Keith Peck has seen great changes in the real estate landscape of the Southeast. These changes encouraged him to pursue a career in the fast paced telecommunications industry. As a real estate professional, Mr. Peck saw the need to have a wireless infrastructure that would keep up with the ever demanding need for wireless communication. In 1996, Mr. Peck began working as a site acquisition consultant for the carriers to negotiate ground leases for wireless telecommunication facilities. After many years as President of his own site acquisition firm, Wireless Network Development, LLC, Mr. Peck co-founded a full service site development company called Georgia Towers, LLC. They provided full turn-key services to many of the large tower companies throughout the United States. After several years assisting the so called "major" tower companies, Mr. Peck partnered and co-founded Prime Tower Development, LLC with long time business associate, Steve Handmaker. Mr. Peck felt that not only could PTD provide services to the carriers more expeditiously than the other companies, he also believed that PTD could be more responsive to the needs of their rapidly growing footprint. He further believed that PTD could own and operate a tower portfolio and provide a level of service to the carriers that they were not already receiving. After more than twenty years in the wireless industry, Mr. Peck has seen so many changes but firmly believes Prime Tower Development is a company that the carriers rely on heavily. |
